QIC Submits Testimony for House Science Committee Quantum Hearing

The Quantum Industry Coalition submitted testimony for the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee’s June 7 hearing on Advancing American Leadership in Quantum Technology. The testimony, which Chairman Lucas entered into the hearing record, contained the Coalition’s recommendations for reauthorization of the National Quantum Initiative Act.

The recommendations included:

  • Scale to win

  • Provide flexibility

  • Foster commercialization

  • Advance quantum research and development

  • Encourage a full stack approach

  • Enable agencies to purchase quantum computers

  • Support the development and manufacturing of chips for quantum technologies

  • Promote technology neutrality

  • Develop the quantum workforce

  • Promote resilient, domestic supply chains

  • Provide access to quantum infrastructure

  • Promote quantum networking

  • Coordinate with national security R&D

  • Engage more directly with industry

  • Assist U.S. companies in adopting quantum technology

  • Support the development of scalable energy-efficient quantum data centers

  • Enhance cooperation with allies

  • Ensure continued leadership on international standards

  • Modernize export controls

  • Promote helpful immigration while limited IP loss

The Committee is expected to take up the reauthorization of the National Quantum Initiative Act in the coming weeks.
